Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved to sing.My daddy still tells me that I have a one of a kind voice and that it would take me places, but I don’t have the slightest clue how to even get started. Becoming a singer has always been my dream for as long as I can remember,a little longer than yesterday.

I’ve listened to country music for 30 plus years now. I have done karaokee and had many applauses from many people but have never taken it to the next step as a career? I’m just curious as to who I would call? Where do I start?
My favorites I sing is David Allen Coe, Merle Haggerd , Hank Williams, Jr.
These are some of the ones I grew up to.

I have been in singin lesson for three years im in it to help me with my range my vocals are set like Miranda Lambert thats why I mostly sing her song.I have been in a recording studio to try to get a feel on what its like…My teacher has made a deal with me if i can get a little bit better at my diction..she will get me in the recording studio an send my music…hopefully everything works out..i thank god every day 4 my talent…

Wait- Taylor Swift is your inspiration? I understand mcgraw & underwood. But really, Swift has a record deal because she is young and she can write good songs. She cannot sing. Please go back in the history of country music to appreciate it- at least back to the 70s with Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. These women can sing- I respect what Taylor Swift has done, but don’t view her as anything more than a pop-country singer– I can’t see her in 20 years singing at say, the Opry.

I love listening to Reba McEntire, how she always rocks every song she sings. All of her songs so meaningful and relate-able, she puts 110% in everything whether is acting or singing.Reba really knows how to sing the message straight into peoples heart, like shes been in that situation before.Shes my idol.

  21. Comment from stephee bibart on March 21st, 2011 :

i have been singing since i was 4. and i love country music. Brad Paisley is my biggest inspiration. he wows me every time he performs. he has such a passion and fire in his eyes for what he is doing. growing up i would listen to country music all the time. i have gotten so good that it takes me hearin a new country song once and the next time round i know it and i never practiced it. i hear the first 3 notes of a country song on the radio and know the song and the artist at that moment. when i listen to country i feel like its specifically written for me and i go to my own world and all is good. i know just about every country song there is these days. over all i like all the country artists…but Brad Paisley is my number one country singer

  22. Comment from Klarista on March 21st, 2011 :

I am only 17 years old, but have been told by teachers, parents, friends, and performers that I shouldn’t be so oblivious to my talent. I like to sing about events in my life that a lot of people go through. Which is what country music is. It is music that tells a story that some people can relate to. Whether it be work, relationships, family, or falling out of friends; you can tell your story and have it understood. I would love to become a country singer, but I need help. Please help me get started. :)
