A Young Woman’s Irresponsible and Excessive Drinking Results In a DWI, Mental Health Issues, Depression, Time In Jail, and Communication, Dating, and Relationship Difficulties

Jesse had a hard time keeping a job. To be sure, because of her languor and lack of motivation, she was out of a job far more regularly than she was employed with a job. And when she did get a job, she had an exceptionally hard time getting to work on time, she usually got less than optimal performance evaluations, and she called off sick so consistently that she almost always got fired a week or two after she began working. It almost goes without saying that one of the outcomes of Jesse’s unacceptable work history was the fact that she was without much money most of the time.
Despite Jesse’s appalling employment record and financial mismanagement, nevertheless, somehow she managed to drink heavily from day-to-day. Not surprisingly, her irresponsible and abusive drinking also resulted in relationship, commitment, and dating problems.
Because of her hazardous and excessive drinking, it came as no big jolt when Jesse received a third DWI. When she went before the court, the magistrate explained to Jesse that her alcohol-related conduct was shameful and, as a consequence, he was going to sentence Jesse to serve eight months in the county jail.
Time In Jail To Reflect On The Disruptive Consequences of Excessive and Abusive Drinking
During her time in the county jail, Jesse was required to learn more about alcohol facts, about the unhealthy effects of excessive and irresponsible drinking, and she was expected to get alcohol treatment. The judge accentuated the fact that unless Jesse gets professional alcohol counseling and learns how to live a life of abstinence, she will most likely be spending more than a short amount of time placed behind bars.
Jesse said that she grasped what the judge was proclaiming but she still proclaimed that placement in the city jail was not the appropriate judgment. The magistrate disagreed and stated that it was his professional responsibility to keep alcoholics off the streets who drink and drive and who get arrested for multiple DUIs. To give credibility to this perspective, the judge listed some venerable, extensively researched alcohol statistics that underlined some of the demoralizing effects that are linked to hazardous drinking.
Although Jesse realized that she drank irresponsibly, she never thought that she was an alcohol addicted individual. So it was quite a shock when Jesse began suffering from symptoms of withdrawal nearly five-and-a-half hours after getting locked up in the county jail.
To deal with her alcohol withdrawals in a safe and sound manner, Jesse was transferred to a rehab facility for alcohol detox and then returned to the local jail. While locked up in the county jail Jesse undertook a mental health assessment for her depression and undertook alcohol therapy but due to the fact that she received this counseling as something that was imposed upon her, she neglected to take ownership of her abusive and hazardous drinking.
When her time behind bars was completed, the judge without indecision announced to Jesse that she would be under rigorous observation and would be mandated to take random alcohol tests.
Jessie’s Excessive and Abusive Drinking Stops Her From Living in a Mature and Productive Manner
After hearing how Jesse neglected to take ownership of her drinking problem and how she halfheartedly followed the treatment procedures while in the city jail, the judge knew that it was only a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about her irresponsible and abusive drinking behavior. As the judge reflected on Jesse’s circumstance, he couldn’t help but think about how some individuals never use their intellect and discover how to live in an accountable manner.
